CTC Ten Foundation - Khayelitsha

On Sunday 13th June, the WP Maccabi U9 Soccer boys took a little trip to the Chris Campbell Memorial Field in Khayelitsha for some expert coaching from the USA Franklin and Marshall College soccer coaches, thanks to the CTC Ten Foundation (http://ctcten.org/mission)

The Maccabi boys had an amazing time mixing and interacting with the local kids from Khayelitsha, learning each others names, experienceing different styles of soccer and coaching.

Many of the boys had never experienced Khayelitsha before and were very interested to see what it was all about.

The day started out with the USA coaches introducing the WP Maccabi boys to the kids from Khayelitsha and then proceeded to take them through some fun soccer drills, by setting up different stations around the field and working on specifc aspects of the game.

Once all the boys had been through all the stations, it was time to line up and sing the national anthem.

With the coaching done and the national anthem sung, it was time for a big surprise, thanks to SPUR Steak Ranches, WP Maccabi was able to donate 50 burgers to the kids of Khayelitsha who graciously accepted with big smiles on thier faces.

A BIG THANK YOU TO SPUR for such an amazing act of kindess.

The day was a huge success, with the boys having learnt a lot from the USA coaches, as well as, the valuable expereince from the CTC Ten Foundation and kids from Khayelitsha.

Thanks to all those parents who were involved, as well as, to Ryan McGonigle and his team from the CTC Ten Foundation.
